They have been arguing that cap-and-trade is not working as intended—that its emission reductions are inadequate, and that in some cases the program has led to an increase in local emissions of other harmful pollutants by allowing industries to buy their way out of cleaning up their practices.

Bike-Share Launches in the East Bay

Other places may have had bike-share for a while, but the cities of the East Bay have had to wait while the kinks were worked out elsewhere. It was worth the wait.

Projects to Improve Transit in California Get Money

Caltrans recently allocated $34 million to 125 projects under the Low Carbon and Transit Operations Program. It's not a lot of money, but these relatively small investments have the potential to make an immediate difference in local, and global, emissions.
